Population and International Distribution
The Silken Windsprite is today established in several European countries and is in part already recognized and registered by national cynological organizations.
“The international distribution of the Silken Windsprite is already a reality – its structured and harmonized management, however, is not.”
The existing populations show a stable to growing development.
Particularly noteworthy is the structured breeding in Germany, complemented by further consolidated populations in the Netherlands, Switzerland, Scandinavia and more.
At the same time, it is evident that the recording and management of the population is currently inconsistent and largely dependent on national structures.
A central, standardized data collection system is lacking.
This situation underlines the need for overarching harmonization within the framework of the Fédération Cynologique Internationale.
Recognition would:
-
enable international comparability of the population
-
make the breeding base transparent and traceable
-
secure long-term genetic stability
-
integrate existing national structures into a unified system
